I bet you'll have a good time tonight, and I'm stuck down here in Georgia with lots of rain (its not cold enough to seem like England, Jane, but I've got one more Flake bar that I think I'll go munch to cheer me up) and there's not a Dels fan in sight. At least I can be proud of Jimmy Carter who this morning was awarded that Nobel Peace Prize thing about 10 years too late. He's cool, for a peanut farmer. Does it seem like it was just last year that a bunch of us Dels obsessives met up in Chicago?? Or could it actually have been way back in November of 1998???? I still remember having such fun putting actual faces to the names I'd seen here on OV, and how everyone turned out to be so cool, and even now I love to hear from those people even tho time has passed & the Dels may not be the center of our universes any more. God help me but I've discovered Keith Urban and had no idea that New Zealand could turn out a gen-you-wine country singer (he plays an old Telecaster, Ed!)... I'm rediscovering ELO ("Turned to Stone" is the best song to sketch to, next to 'Roll to Me' and 'Not Where Its At'), I found out that U2 is really really good when they want to be, and that Eric Clapton is still my muse... Jeff, maybe you'll find tonight as we did that weekend back in 1998 that Dels fans are good-looking, highly intelligent, and have impeccable taste in music. Let's hope that Del Amitri remembers that we care. Susan Gardner - ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Schultz Subject: OV: informal NYC gathering tomorrow (Tuesday 12/10) Come meet up with a couple of long suffering Dels fans this Tuesday evening in Manhattan, where we'll all line up and lean against the bar, and talk about our favorite drunks in a band. So far, myself, Stacy, Rachel (and her friend) will be joined by Alex, who is flying in from the UK especially for this evening, so if you're in town, you've got no excuse not to swing by.... ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V4 #301 **********************************
