Sorry to rub it in, but being from Long Island, NY, it was quite natural to see the Ramones back in the 80s. Actually, a girlfriend of mine was dating a guy who joined up later in their career (and became C. J. Ramone). There was lots of noise and lots of moshing going on in a pretty small space. It was actually dangerous (I got roughed up a bit, being 5'3"), but lots of fun. The only band I ever saw who inspired more violent dancing was Fishbone.
