Thinking about how great those songs are inspired me to paraphrase the Crash Test Dummies (remember this was 1am after approx 14hr trip): Del Amitri never made any money//for saving the world from Madonna and Britney//and sometimes I despair the world will never see another band//like them. Butler was the original guitarist in Suede, and has also released a couple of solo albums. McAlmont was half of indie duo Thieves, and has also done some solo work. They collaborated on a series of singles, which were released, together with the various B-sides from the different formats, as an album, "The Sound of McAlmont and Butler" in about 1994. The album was put together in this fashion because they had fallen out by this point, and weren't likely to record any additional tracks. Happily, however, they patched up their differences, and put out a stunning new album, "Bring it Back", earlier this year. I would encourage you to give their stuff a listen. More information (and samples) at www.mcalmontandbutler.com I passed this on, as I mentioned M&B the last time I contributed to a "now playing" thread, and some other OVers mentioned that they liked their stuff, too.
