It all sounds like good material for a bad soap opera. :-) Are we here allowed in the support group? LOL debbie - --- SngWrite1@aol.com wrote: > ... that band called Del Amitri? Who here still has Del Amitri in their play list? (For the record, I do. Listening to SOSP again after the recent? [time means nothing to me] posts about it.) Hey, should we do a "what are you listening to now" post? I'll start. In rotation now (in my car): 1. The Mission UK - Resurrection (feeling nostalgic) 2. Selmasongs (Dancer In The Dark soundtrack) 3. Prayer Boat - Polichinelle (don't remember who recommended them, but they're ok...a little boring, but ok) 4. Moulin Rouge soundtrack 5. Jellyfish - Bellybutton (I don't know why I didn't get into them more than I did at the time I got this. What was wrong with me? Oh yeah, still blinded by the Dels :-) 6. Are you kidding me, Dels are always on my play list, in some form or another, I go thru withdrawl without them... Right now: 1. Twisted, Del Amitri (a classic) 2. A Rush of Blood to the Head (will be a classic) 3. Songs for the Deaf, Queens of the Stone Age (A little harsher than what I usually listen to, but Dave Grohl is so talented, had to buy it) 4. Calling all Angels, Ash 5. Blonde on Blonde, Bob Dylan 6. When I Was Cruel, Elvis Costello 7. The Complete Stone Roses, The Stone Roses 8. The Last Broadcast, Doves I just got CYDMG? a month or so ago, I was putting off buying it until I had money (that is the life of a college student!) but decided that I could wait no longer. Found myself pleasantly surprised, not Twisted, but then, nothing is, but it is still Del Amitri, and that is so much better than no Del Amitri if you ask me!! It really is a simple life I lead, when I derive more pleasure from a new Del CD that came out five months before than in anything else in my life!! LOL Dave!! That cheered me up on a day when I'm full of cold, had to miss Glenn Tillbrook last night and it's dark and grey and pouring down with rain! But we mustn't forget that they only released an album and finished a tour a few months back. Everyone on all the boards and here are talking like they've been away for *years*. (Which, granted, they have been if you live outside the UK). But we had a gap of four years between tours and people weren't getting so impatient or despondent then. They didn't always keep the fans informed of what was happening then (look how frustrated Alison was at times!) and they aren't obliged to do so now. For all anyone knows they may have signed up to an independent label and are half way through a new album as we speak. Justin said he'd written dozens of songs... OK, so that's a highly unlikely scenario - but they've hardly had time to draw breath and take stock after losing the Mercury contract. Things take time, and what might seem like aeons to us may be flying by to them. I've been on an Otway trip - and now am getting very retro, having dug out some of my old Dire Straits, Police, Led Zep and ELP CD's. The only post 1985 albums I'm listening to are the latest Mark Knopfler CD - Ragpicker's Dream and the new Coldplay.
