I've never seen them before and they aren't in any recognisable official "font". One person had 71 for sale - but they are a new eBay user - no previous feedback. That'd be a hoot. :) I really can't see the Dels (or Justin anyway) doing anything like this, but one of my favourite "singers", John Otway, does a regular annual boat trip to Dunkerque, France. OK, so it's not the same as a Caribbean cruise - but you get to share breakfast with Otway before departing on a coach - which you will get to share with him and the band at some stage during the trip (there are 5 or 6 coachloads). You can sit with him in the bar on the ferry (and if you're lucky you can buy him a beer). Upon arrival in Dunkerque, the armpit of France, you may find yourself in the same hotel as him - and get to buy him another beer. Then there is a live gig - with great support acts like Dr Feelgood or Wilco Johnson - back to a bar with the band so you can buy them yet another beer. Next morning there's another gig and John gets his Speedos on and takes a dip in the English Channel (bearing in mind this is November and it's FREEZING) - so he will need another beer. Then it's back on the coaches to Dunkirk in Kent, where we can have a few more beers with Otway - by which time he may be so merry he buys YOU a drink. However, if our plans and machinations go well he may be a Two Hit Wonder by November and we'll have to buy him TWO beers. Think I'd prefer a Caribbean cruise though..... but they're a darn sight dearer! He has received emails from Sony and the motion picture association, about people who have streams of still in theater movies. He calls them, gives them three days to take it down, and leaves them alone. It's only on the second email from sony that he pulls the plug for three weeks, and on the third, kicks them to a different internet provider. As far as I know, he has never been approached about doing that for music, because, just as you said, you can't tell if it's illegal or not. Indirectly, as in having someone buy a CD at full price, enjoy it, then sell it when they are done with it at a time depreciated amount is better than having someone buy a CD and immediately pass around free copies. One decision people make when they buy things is knowing that they can sell it later so they might never have bought a CD in the first place if they knew they couldn't sell it later. The main point though was the price, I think CDs need to get to be under $10 to be a viable again. - --- Peter Stanley wrote: > Believe me, I have no sympathy for the "biz" part of > the record industry, > but how does buying a disc on Ebay directly benefit > the artist? Actually, that's Doug's job. Anyway, good news and bad news. Good news: I found what was left of the stickers that Kelli made! Bad news: I found 3 stickers that Kelli made! Since Jane was the first one to bring it up, I'm gonna give her one, and I'll do a little drawing for the rest. So, if you already emailed me, I've got you entered, and if you didn't, then do it, dude.
