Are you trying to frighten everyone?? Seriously though, sounds like a cool idea Kevin - -----Original Message----- From: owner-oppositeview@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oppositeview@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Alison Bellach Sent: 19 July 2002 15:34 To: Opposite View Subject: OV: lovin' and tribute stuff Hey guys, How come more non-Americans didn't participate on the tribute album? If you were thinking of doing it and decided not to, was there a specific reason? I, having an accent fetish, would like to hear a huge variety of countries represented on the next tribute disc, dangit. But what would really crack me up is an Alison/Kevin duet. ;) - ------------------------------------------------------------------- Alison Bellach: alibee@delamitri.com http://alibee.linex.com http://www.delamitri.com "If you want peace, work for justice." ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 13:46:03 +0100 From: "Lynne Templeton" Subject: OV: Re: Last Cheap Shot of the Dream I think that lyrically, this song is my favourite of the Dels along with Just Getting By. I suppose it's because I really identify with everything that's written. "I have shaken never bitten everything hand that ever hit me. Time has taken what it wanted, now I'm going to get my victory with my last cheap shot at the dream. "I can't look into the future but I can cheat the past. I will wipe away my memory. I will find freedom at last." A rather late response to this! I met Jane last year and she said you guys were really big into Ryan, always meant to chat you about it but never got round to it! I've seen him a few times now, all in Dublin. The last one was with the Gold tour and he was in really bad form. He only played for 1.5 hours and then left the stage. Apparently he got kicked off because there was a DJ set booked and he had to be off by 10.30pm. Supposed this is what pissed him off - he could've said on the night but decided to post a msg to his website about it. Musically though, I thought that concert was excellent. Anyhow, I've got some great tracks on MP3 by him if you want anything. There's a great song "Hey there, Mrs Lovely" that you definately need to hear if you haven't done already. I've also got the orignal version of "Come Pick Me Up" - it's a live recording just after he wrote it. His stuff with the Pinkhearts is good too. If your as sad as me you'll probably have this stuff already, if not and your interested, give me a shout! I've got more stuff, but there's no use cloggin up this email if your not interested! andrew - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hilary Gray" To: Cc: Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2002 9:48 AM Subject: Re: OV: RE: Re: In Rotation...Ryan Adams? > > Can I just ask what Ryan Adams did to annoy so much at that Brixton > > gig? Hi all I've just come back from the perfect holiday (went to Toronto, Chicago and Milwaukee to see Rush) and was wondering what I've missed. I was checking the emails "occasionally" but I'll confess I didn't want to rack up dollars worth of reading what was on people's play-lists :oP Cheers Chris Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.yahoo.com ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V4 #190 **********************************
