In my car.... 1. Cousteau - Cousteau/Sirena I know, I know, but some of the songs are actually quite listenable. Btw, a friend heard them on interview on Radio 2 a while back, and when asked what it was like to tour with Del Amitri said that the fans were "very attentive". LOL!! Not all the ones on the front row..... 2. Ryan Adams - Gold Back in the player after a gap when Libby and I saw him live in Brixton and weren't very impressed. 3. Remy Zero - Golden Hum Saw them earlier this year at the War Child gig supporting Starsailor and Travis, then again in Camden on their own. They rock live, see them if you can, they seem to be perpetually touring the US. They do the theme tune to Smallville. http://www.remyzero.com 4. Eileen Rose - Long Shot Novena Just gets better and better. 5. David Bowie - Best of 1969/1974 Perfect for driving solo, turning the volume up and singing along! I didn't have it either, but they were selling many of his CDs for $10 each - might be worth a wait! Here's my last 5: Josh Clayton Felt - Spirit Touches Ground Los Lobos - Good Morning Aztlan - These guys put on a great live show Iris DeMent - Infamous Angel Sarah Harmer - You Were Here ( http://www.sarahharmer.com ) A lovely Canadian singer, I was turned into a fan when she opened for Great Big Sea, also from Canada Box Set - Mean Time ( http://www.boxset.com ) One of my all time favorites, they started as an acoustic duo and built up to a 5 member band. Ohmygod! I'm such a huge Neil Finn fan.......I'm going to see him in DC on the 18th!! I have One All (the American release) as well as One Nil, which came out in Australia last year (ordered from an Aussie website). I must say that I loved One Nil, but that with the exception of one song (Hole in the Ice - I liked the original better) the remixes and the addition of two additional songs (Lullaby Requiem and Human Kindness) make One All a much better album as a whole. I personally cannot wait to actually SEE Neil in person.........I hope I don't accidentally jump on the stage.......yikes! Oh, and for my 5 current listens: 1. One All - Neil Finn 2. Utopia Parkway - Fountains of Wayne (they have a new one coming out!) 3. Terry Hall - Home 4. Neil Finn and Friends - Live at the St. James 5. Abandoned Pools - Humanistic Liz Osborne - ----Original Message Follows---- From: S J Pliska Reply-To: sjp@pliska.com To: oppositeview@smoe.org Subject: OV: Re: In Rotation...
