It's definitely better than the new Bowie album IMHO and still sounds good to me (although I reckon there are one or two "filler" tracks on there which I find a bit strange if it's true that they had written 80 or so songs!). Still Sucks! In my opinion, the new album hasnt got the spirit of the other albums. Buttons On My Clothes and Out Falls the Past are great tunes but there is that certain breath of death surrounding the music. Listen to early nineties live appearances and compare it to the new stuff! I miss the enthusiasm and above all a direction! Can You Do Me Good? has been in my CD player since late May early June?? There is not a bad song in the bunch but my favorites are: Drunk In a Band, Cash and Prizes and Buttons on My Clothes. Good drumming on that last one there. Just weighing in. Lack of direction, as you see it, may actually be part of the artistic phase they're in. There is definitely a different tone to CYDMG, but I think it does hold together. It may not be their strongest on some levels, but I just see it as part of their artistic development. If they cranked out the same old kind of stuff all the time they'd be hacks! I'm still listening to it...and enjoying.
