People read words differently to the way the person who wrote them read them to themselves, that's when arguments start between people over absolutely nothing, so let's just be careful, we are all friends here! Also, this B-Sides CD that I am creating that a lot of people have shown an interest in, I would like to point out, due to another email misinterpretation (My fault) that this isn't a tribute CD when I am singing the songs I like, it is a cd created from MP3 files that were on the web. It is the Del's themselves and just a copy of a collaboration that I created for myself. I wanted to spread the knowledge. Have a good day all of you! Hiya, I think it's a good idea to stop mail like this, it doesn't do anyone any good :) I hope by being a newcomer here i haven't spoken out of turn. Well presumably Claire's friend has nothing to do with what you do with your copy once you've bought it so doesn't matter whether they like it. I'd be up for this idea though definitely. I dont have a CD burner so worried that maybe I wont be able to be part of the tree! Although the other suggestion about putting the money towards the band is a good one too, imo. I would love a copy in many ways - however, I don't like the idea of someone making money out of this, and #15 a copy certainly means a profit is being made. I think that is ripping off the band, and other fans. Claire - -----Original Message----- From: Alison Bellach [mailto:alibee@delamitri.com] Sent: 26 May 2002 14:59 To: Opposite View Subject: OV: Moola Hey guys, Here's my 2 cents/pounds/euros/francs: 1. I personally do not condone putting out money for a bootleg. The only exception, imo, is "Swimming...", which is a professional pressing. And even that is iffy. 2. No offense, but I have this sneaky feeling that the band doesn't want our money in the way that it's being presented that we obtain and then donate it. Those boys are proud. Also, they allow anyone to record from the soundboard free of charge, and expect that those recordings will be distributed; it's no surprise to them. 3. I think it's pretty lame that Claire's friend (NOT Claire) is selling bootlegs. If (s)he asked for reimbursement for media, that's one thing; profiting off the band in any way (or any band, for that matter) disgusts me. 4. Darren rocks for trying to put this together! 5. If any of you wore leather pants and I knew about it, I'd start a fan club for you so we could obssess ;) Alison - ------------------------------------------------------------------- Alison Bellach: alibee@delamitri.com http://alibee.linex.com http://www.delamitri.com "If you want peace, work for justice." ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 06:42:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Claire Subject: OV: Re: bootlegs Whereas all this discussion about the rights and wrongs of selling bootlegs has been interesting, I have no morals. Also I could upload all the songs to my Del Amitri site in mp3, if that's any help. Sure, CD quality is better than MP3, but I think many people very pleased with them. :-) Dirk ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 May 2002 09:31:27 -0700 From: Darren Holmquist Subject: OV: From Sandro: I got a note from Sandro, here is what he had to say: Darren..
