I so agree! One of the last shows they played in Minneapolis a few years ago was at the Orpheum Theatre, which is a sit-down venue. No, no, no. This is not the way this band should be experienced. They are definitely a stand-up, mash with your neighbors band! The vibe just never got going when we were all seated in puffy, velvet-covered chairs. Which is why, if by some remote stroke of good luck they do decide to tour the U.S., I say: in Minneapolis skip the Orpheum and go back to First Avenue! That is a place quite like the Barrowlands only--and Sarah and Gerry were aghast to hear this--a little less, um, erm, well, with a little more "character" than the Barras... As for Justin's appearance, no, there haven't been leather pants yet this time around. He wears a long, dark jacket and blue jeans. But of course, he would look good wearing a paper bag, wouldn't he? :) I'm off for the day's adventures, mainly Kew Gardens while the weather is still decent. Wasn't yesterday wonderful? See some of you tonight! Hi everyone! I'm new to the list and so thought I'd make myself known! I went to see Del in Bristol the other day. The played mainly the new album tracks which I really enjoyed. I didn't think that Jesus Saves went down very well actually, I dont know if other people who saw them in Bristol really agree with me there, but a lot of people seemed to be looking at each other thinking "what the..?" I actually really like that song and thought it was great. It was my first Del gig and I'll definitely be going to see them again. I hope you enjoy it, let us know what they were like! PS sorry to Leighton J - just realised I sent it to their email address instead of the list! - ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Leighton J. There is no atmosphere. The deadest place I've seen the dels was the Warwick Arts centre in '98 (might have been '97). Great performance though, full credit to the band. Hi all Well the last concert for Lynne and I was Southampton last night and as usual a great perfomance from the band. Lovely to see some of you back in England again and as usual OV took over the front row. There was myself, Lynne, Jane, Lori, Taire and Sherry to the left and Sandro, Hilary, Andrew, Libby, Jackie, Bobbie to the right plus more that we might not have recognised!! (what happened to that OV badge!). The best stage yet as we were some way away but it gave us a great view of the whole band and plenty of room for them to move around. They even played football with a ballon at one stage. Justin missed his lines several times but no more so than when several bras were thrown from the audience. Then during 'Kiss this thing goodbye', the penultimate song, he missed a complete verse with uncontrolled laughing. Later we found that several girls had revealed their breasts at him!! Needless to say Andrew and I were pretty disappointed that we missed this, but made up for it by ensuring that all our party were not responsible and still had their bras on :o). A great two weeks for us, lets hope there is another tour soon, here or in the States.
