Review Ok, folks, I FINALLY got the CD and got the chance to listen to it a few times through. Here's my impression: Just Before You Leave: still like it. Cash & Prizes: my least favorite track on the CD. The godawful looped drum beat is TOO prominent and really takes away from the song, in my opinion. Drunk in a Band: LOVE IT!! This one is certain to put them back in the charts...assuming the record company is smart enough to release it as the next single! One More Last Hurrah: Hauntingly beautiful! (despite that atrocious drum beat...again) Buttons on My Clothes: clever lyrics...classic Dels Baby it's Me: Sweet (not to be confused with SCHWEET! Dude. :-) Wash Her Away: Ssssssssssexy! Last Cheap Shot at the Dream: Classic dels. I had heard a bootlegged copy off the Internet. It sounds much better all clean. Lovely harmonies. Out Falls the Past: Groovy! She's Passing This Way: Nice. Not necessarily a stand out song, but very enjoyable in a sleepy, perfect for slow dancing sort of way. Jesus Saves: It's a rockin' little tune. Although I don't share Justin's view of religion, I respect his right to share his thoughts. As someone else pointed out (Jane, Susan? Must get sleep :-), it seems like Justin is sort of sitting on the threshhold wanting to go in, but thinks himself just a bit too "cool" to do it. Other than the few lines of pure vitriol, I think most Christians could see that the rest of what he says is true. Just take out the 4th & 5th verses and the last two lines of the song and it's all true. Just Getting By: My ABSOLUTE favorite!! I LOVE this song! The melody is lovely. The sentiment is so honest it hurts. It's another universal, classic, true to life, shared experience type of Dels song. Did I mention I love this song? Oh, and does anyone know the title of the last instrumental track? Does it have a title? That's all folks... debbie Yahoo! We're truly an example of all the different colored crayons co-existing well in the same box. :-) I just sent my review, but I'll chirp in on this thought, too. I love Jesus Saves as a song, despite not agreeing with Justin's "message." Also, I'd love to see ANY Dels concert, no matter what song they end with. :-p debbie - --- Chris Quartly wrote: > You betcha, it's one of my faves off the album as > well > though. But for the life of me I can't understand ending with JGB, I've spoken to a lot of fans that most would claim to be "hangers-on" and all they could say were things like "great gig, but crap ending" or "wish they'd have played longer", etc. I love ths song, but would also give Kiss this thing goodbye a rest for a while. Maybe end on Stone Cold Sober or something else. But at the end of the day they will play what they play and I will enjoy every second of it!
