Then I got the CD yesterday and have so far only managed to hear it once (in the car - not the best listening environment!). I needn't have worried. The Dels have surpassed themselves - this CD is excellent. And that's not a word I use lightly, even for Del Amitri. They've retained their great melodies, thought provoking lyrics etc., in fact everything we all know and love. But they've added to that with some new technological stuff (I feared that they would lose something, but the reverse has happened). My only slight gripe is that I'm not initially keen on the drum sound on some of the tracks, but that's probably something I'll get used to. The guitars are still there - but this is "Del Amitri" plus! There's even a bit of brass! Fantastic stuff. Now I can't wait to hear it on a good hifi - got so say I'm relieved and very pleased. Top stuff guys - brilliant work. This is the best review so far! Keep em coming! As for the album, hey I'm a fan, and have been a big one since ... uh Alison was in high school. :P I fully expect to enjoy at least some of it, these guys are too good to completely ruin a whole CD. That still doesn't mean that they didn't torpedo it by releasing such an uninspiring single with a useless video. The ONLY purpose of singles is to get people to buy the album and who but the already fans are going to buy it after hearing JBYL? 37th this week (which is what like 500 sales in UK?) and 97th next week. The band was appearing in Edinburgh to promote their new album Can You Do Me Good? when Justin said he regrets recording his country's official World Cup song in 1998, Don't Come Home Too Soon.
