For those in Australia, I notice that www.chaosmusic.com have the album listed on their website, saying the album will be available from April 22. Chaosmusic accept phone orders and also respond to queries logged through the form on their website so they may be the best of the online retailers to deal with. I've ordered from them a couple of times without any dramas. later! I haven't got it yet either. I've deliberately not listened to any advance stuff as I want to hear it first on a good hifi system. But I have to say on hearing the single(s) I'm somewhat less than impressed - I like guitars and I don't hear much of them. If the album continues along that vein it will be their worst yet IMHO. Initial impressions are that in trying to "get with the times" and using samples electronics etc. they've thrown the baby out with the bathwater. There's a whole plethora of people who do that stuff - and better than the Dels. A shame - but as I say I've yet to hear the album. I can be somewhat patient, but not patient enough for a US release. I'm now just waiting for Amazon UK to ship them to me. I'm also interested in getting "The Best of Del Amitri" videotape. I can find it, however, in only the PAL format. Here in the US, I need NTSC. Is anyone on the list aware of an NTSC version (preferably on DVD as opposed to VHS)? Short of that, does anyone on the list have the equipment to make a conversion from PAL to NTSC? I have found some places in the US that will do the conversion, but the service is quite pricey. (I'm a recent subscriber to the list, so please forgive me if this rehashes an old topic.) If I can grab it that day, that'll give me just over 3 weeks to learn it all before I get to see the boys live in Southampton!! You little Ripper!!! WOOOOHOOOOO! Sandro PS. David - HMV has it for $2 cheaper than chaos - 24.95. ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V4 #87 *********************************
