Are you expecting it to be like the old albums, or more like Just Before You Leave? Has hearing the streams online put you off in any way? Watch out who you're callin' "old", you whippersnapper. > OK, what are you expecting from Del Amitri's new album and what do you want from it? I expect eccentric, thought-provoking, well crafted and irresistable tunes. I WANT a new guitar instrumental too but will have to be content with old 'Kestrel Road' I suppose... > Are you expecting it to be like the old albums, or more like Just Before You Leave? I'm OLD enough to know not to expect anything - that way, one is usually happy to get anything at all because that's more than was expected. I honestly hope the album sounds the way the band wants it to sound. > Has hearing the streams online put you off in any way? Nope - just the opposite. Its kept me appeased until I can get my mittens on the album or a single! Thanks to everyone who has supported the release of "45-10 Pearson" and "The Snow, The Rain and Yesterday" on 1 CD. Also very big thanks to the support of "The Bootleg Series" which has been a great success. Joe is listening to other past shows and we is hoping to release 6 more live performances later in 2002. "The Quiet Side" - A compilation CD of the quieter/acoustic Joe D'Urso songs with three or four unreleased tracks is still in the works. The New/Next Record!- JD&SC started work on their next untitled CD when they returned home from the January/February European Tour. They recorded 4 songs (So Tired, Air, Funny What This World Can Do and Bruce Springsteen's Badlands) at Jolly Roger Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey. Word has it they may also record a Willie Nile song and word also has it that the next release will be a double CD with one solo acoustic CD and a full blown rock and roll CD! Plans are being made for a January 2003 release with a December prerelease. As always, thanks for your support and for enjoying the Music! That's it for now with more to follow soon. Thanks. Feel free to email on list as well as off, as I feel this will start an interesting thread as well. OK, what are you expecting from Del Amitri's new album and what do you want from it? I expect it to be full of songs about relationships and how they generally tend not to work out. Sprinkle a bit of cyniscism over that and top off with some clever use of words. Cook in a studio for a couple of years and hey presto... Are you expecting it to be like the old albums, or more like Just Before You Leave? I don't expect it to be like the old albums. Not sure how it will sound I think the main thing with Dels albums tends not to bethe songs themselves as such but the way they are produced/mixed for the final album. Listening to most Dels songs (if not all) they can be striped back to just an acoustic guitar and a voice. That would be my ideal. Has hearing the streams online put you off in any way? I haven't heard them so my first listen will be on my arrival back from MVC on the day the album comes out.
