I want to hear things in CD quality, I wouldn't want to hear new Dels material in inferior quality. Plus it's not as exciting if you buy a "new" album that you've already heard everything on! One thing I was the Dels would do is release a proper live album. Maybe on this tour they could do a live DVD with all the bells and whistles. No Better location was good, but I thought the performance could have been a bit better. I may be wrong, but didn't Justin have the flu, or something the night of that show... but they couldn't cancel because it was being filmed?? Train just put out a live DVD, and maybe because I've listened to the albums and live shows SOOO much, that the DVD didn't do much for me. The 'extras' were much more interesting, and waaay too short. Well, I know that I almost always like demos better than the "final" ones. Demos aren't commercial. There isn't this "pop" stuff in it they do to album tracks. They're just true songs, true voices, not mixed. For example, take "I won't take the blame". I can't do with the album version. It's just got too much pop elements. But the demo of this great song is so overwhelming I can almost cry when I hear it... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2002 12:07:15 -0600 From: "Tempora Ekdahl" Subject: Re: OV: Album progress While I agree with Chris about the need for a proper live CD/video, may I put in a vote for either NO DVD or a release in both DVD and video formats? The whole multiple-zone thing with DVD's is confusing at best and frustrating in the whole. And converting PAL-NTSC is a breeze compared to trying to find compatable players and/or transfer DVD to video... Just a thought...back to lurking... I've been buying Bootlegs of the Beatles stuff since 1988. (Thank you Yellow Dog!) But, there's virtually none around of the Dels stuff. Which is why the radio show trading is such a boon for me. It's as close as I can get to demos and outtakes. I love the alternate edits and versions of Learn To Cry, When You Were Young, Stone Cold Sober, etc. that they've put on the singles. Not so happy about the Karaoke version of Don't Come Home Too Soon, however! :) While I KNOW Justin wouldn't allow demos of the current album, but maybe he would concede to some from Waking Hours or some of the B-sides...?? Or maybe an Internet Only release of same. "Dreamer. You know you are a dreamer...."
