Mucho hype. I was out of town so I didn't get to see them, but I did download some of their songs to get a feel for their sound because everyone was talking about them. Can't say that I'm blown away as everyone seems to be. I think I'm going to have to take another listen. If you don't have an up to date virus checker and if you've sent any mail to OV recently, please don't open any mails from him with attachments. (It goes out to the senders of unread emails in a person's inbox - not to the whole list) This is a horribly annoying virus - I received over 50 mails in a fortnight with this virus attached. Luckily it doesn't do much damage - except to annoy your friends and email correspondents. It also doesn't kick in until you reboot - so if you think you've been infected, don't reboot until you've cleaned up your PC. If you try to open the mail , the worm displays a message box entitled, "Install error" which reads, "File data corrupt: probably due to a bad data transmission or bad disk access." A copy is saved into the WINDOWS directory as INETD.EXE and an entry is entered into the WIN.INI file to run INETD.EXE at Startup. KERN32.EXE (a backdoor trojan), and HKSDLL.DLL (a keylogger DLL detected as DUNpws.av) are written to the WINDOWS SYSTEM directory, and a registry entry is created to load the worm upon system startup. This site has a programme to remove the Badtrans virus is situated, its very simple and easy to use http://www.claymania.com/badtrans-removal.html Jane Cheers Jane ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 09:19:50 -0000 From: "Jane Armstrong" Subject: OV: Hogmanay Rumours The following was posted in the Guestbook on the UK site: "For anyone who didn't see today's Glasgow Evening Times (!!?) Page 3 reported Greg Kane from Hue and Cry was trying to get together a 'Glasgow All-star's line up for Hogmanay...with our Justin said to be headlining.....along with Eddie Reader Edwyn Collins, The Big Dish , The Supernaturals to name a few...thought somebody out there may be interested........" Anyone else heard any rumours about this? Do I need to book a plane ticket? Jane ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V3 #311 **********************************
