Its where I visit if I am feeling too lazy to sit down and work the songs out myself. They are usually pretty accurate (although I have found them to be slightly wrong sometimes). Anymore help you want, let me know. Jim - -----Original Message----- From: bwurm@clickfish.com [mailto:bwurm@clickfish.com] Sent: 03 December 2001 08:25 To: oppositeview@smoe.org Subject: OV: Christmas present help I know I'm a bit late, however, for me the perfect present has little to do with spending loads of money, but with giving the problem loads of thought and a fair bit of DIY is highly welcome. So I've just come up with this idea for my sister (well, there is always her 30th birthday on January, 19) and I find I need some help from all of you guitar players out there. Here's the story: Summer before last my sister decided to learn to play the guitar - with a lent guitar and a book. Christmas last year she got her own guitar and within minutes every member of the family had offered to pay for lessons as a birthday present... Now she is taking lessons and though it's much improved, whenever I suggest a song (e.g. Nothing ever happens) her standard reply is "That's much too fast". Just yesterday, however, she phoned and asked me to look up the tabs/notes/chordes (you see I'm anything but the expert here) for Billy Joel's Lenningrad on the Internet and last weekend it was Imagine. All that gave me the idea to give her her own personalised "sing-along"-book, but with me being probably the least musical person on this list I would highly appreciate some input in the form of song titles and artists. German, French, English and even Italian. Sorry for taking so long, thank you in advance and an early "All the best" from Nuremberg - the city of the worldfamous Christkindlesmarkt! More or less every band has written a 3 or 4 chord song. What type of music does your sister like and I could work out which are the easier ones for you if you would like. I second that amen. I'm particularly fond of his album Cloud Nine, that includes such gems as When We Was Fab, Got My Mind Set on You, and Devil's Radio. (As Jane will undoubtedly know already, the album also features fine guitarwork by our beloved Eric Clapton too). George's creativity was amazing, and his dedication to is an inspiration to all of us beset by our own creative urges. I have been listening to Cloud Nine over and over again since I found out on Friday, it makes this all seem less real, he still always be with us...I think that as soon as I get my band off the ground I want to do all things must pass as a tribute, to me, that is he best song, and it defines the life that he has lived.
