[Jen Woyan Subject: OV: OT - For UK OV'ers - anyone planning to watch this? TeleText.com Pick of the day: 30 October 2001 Linda Green New comedy series starring Liza Tarbuck as a bold and brassy Northern woman. The writing is sharp and Tarbuck proves herself to be a fine comedy actress. By day she works in a car showroom, by night she is a club singer. She also manages to fit in a string of disastrous relationships in between. Tonight sees her dump her nasty lover played by Christopher Eccleston. There's somebody in the wings ready to take his place - his sappy twin. BBC1, 9pm I've been hearing so much about it - I was just wondering if it's really any good. Hope all are well and safe. With my new dual US/UK OV citizenship I believe I am qualified to answer this one. And my answer is, who cares when you can watch a real British sitcom - the breakup of the Spice Girls! ... 2 of them fire their manager, but aren't there 4 of them? ... rumors that the only reason they haven't split up is that they aren't talking to each other ... Victoria has a bad month dropping a mic while lip synching and getting pelted with fruit when really trying to sing ... MelB goes Buddhist ... Geri doing better than all of them ... MelB's ex in jail again for beating on people again ... no Greatest Hits because once again, they aren't talking to each other ... Victoria the only one with any dosh left thanks to her husband ... a really weird website at http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Marina/5161/spicet/ ... MelC up for Smash Hits female vocalist of the year - - listen to her solo CD and laugh your butt off at this one ... MelB solo dropped by her Virgin label? - I thought she was the only one that could really sing? ... no dirt on Emma ever bah ... Sporty is going to rock out on her next CD, goodbye solo career ... As you can see I'm completely hooked on this show. E! (US) this past weekend ran both the Spice Girls True Hollywood Story as well as the documentary "Extreme Spice" which chronicled their early years of strife and hardship in the pop trenches...actually, they were both quite riveting....Geri Halliwell AND Posh AND Sporty all sold 2 million (each) of their solo albums??! I never woulda believed it... Cheers, Jen in cold, rainy Chicago (wishing she were somewhere else...)
