And I know that in the UK www.hmv.co.uk counts towards UK chart position, and I'm pretty certain I was told that www.amazon.co.uk does too - could someone check with www.amazon.com if they do in the US. There's no need to pay high import prices any more - you can just order on-line direct from the other country's website, so no more excuses!! And if pre-orders for the album are good in the UK, an early US release would be more likely. If we can all order from both countries it would help the band enormously. And once you've got a copy - make sure you play it to all your friends until they fall in love with the Dels and just HAVE to go out and buy it! I'm definitely going to get copies from the UK, US and Australia if it's released over there. (And let's hope it is - we know the band want to tour Down Under - and it's up to this list to help sales there so the promoters will book them) The Ozzie SOSP had two extra tracks, so I wonder if the new one will. The German and Japanese versions also had these two extra tracks. I'll buy it unless it really sucks. So will most of the other people on this list except the Napster mentality types who will just steal it like they do everything else with the justification of "I'm poor". It's the rest of the world we need to be concerned with. The best way into the market would be to be a teenage boy band, or better get Andy to have a fling with Meg Ryan, but with the Dels not having that option they're going to have to deliver a non-sucky CD with at least one radio friendly single that doesn't sound like it's been through the washing machine 100 times like their last ones AND on top of that have some minimal label support so that it gets to stores with some promo and has a chance to be heard. Basically they have to do a U2 at this point, come up with the best stuff of their career, or they're going down faster than the Wallflowers second CD. The entertainment industry has a pretty short memory for the most part, and with Roll To Me long gone, them blowing their follow up chance, the lousy state of the economy and the "consolidation" of the record industry, they have the toughest road yet ahead of them. So no way alison "lips" bellach you can't put this one on me. It's up to the Dels to deliver, wash their clothes on tour for a change and avoid any kind of promotional devices that involve their heads in baby carriages, lollipops or the color yellow. DOOD????? Other than that - well said, Doug! I'm having a difficult time waiting til the new year, I'll tell you that much. Every time I force myself to watch a bit of MTV or VH-1 just to see what's going on, I cringe thinking of how much better our guys are than, say, maybe 99% of what I see. Although that Alien Ant Farm cover of 'Smooth Criminal' is quite a hoot. During this drought of new songs, at least Internetland has some interesting Dels stuff so be sure to check out some of the online auctions and what other fans have to trade. Awhile back our own Cheeky Chin-Chin traded with me for a wonderful poster of the band in the Brian McD era, and yesterday another poster arrived via post that I'd found on eBay - its the charming one for the single 'Cry To Be Found'. I'm going to have to add another room onto my studio to hold all this wall memorabilia! Tell you what, I can't walk in that room and not smile.
