Or quite often not allowed the rights to particular songs by the copyright owners. It's the same as when you see a cd in a bargain bin entitled "The most of Dr Hook" for example. When you look closer you find that half their hits are not on it and the record label is not the artists record company but intead someone like "Karussell records" who specialise in complilations. Note that these cds will never be entitled "The Best of" as they are not allowed to be. But intead they will thing of something clever to try and fool you like "The Most of" or "20 Great Songs by" Of course these cd's ar usually only 5 or 10 bucks so as usual you get what you pay for. But it does pay to read carefully Cheers to all, Nick james >Date: Mon, 6 Aug 2001 15:23:28 +0100 >From: Hopping James W >Subject: OV: Dels on compilations > >A couple of surprising instances involving Dels over the weekend. I like August because in 1997 it was the month that I saw Del Amitri play in concert for the first time... and its the month during which Iain got married a couple of years ago, how sweet... and its going to be the month during which I get to hear Skillet's new album . I WISH it was the month during which I would get to hear a new single by Del Amitri too, but se la vie... The month's not over yet. Maybe there'll be some more Delnews before the 31st.
