First I had a band rehersal on Saturday and we have decided to do Black Velvet by Alannah Miles. Our singer brought a compilation CD along solely for the reason that it had this track on. On looking at the other tracks I noticed it had 'Not Where It's At' on it when I read the title of the compilation I was very bemused. 'The Greatest Rock Songs of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s'. ROCK. And even if you classed Dels as Rock then surely there are better choices than that (bizarely it also contained 'Real Gone Kid'!?!?!?!?. Second I was rooting through a bargain bin in a local CD shop and came across a Cd which was a collection of songs from Scottish artists celebrating the tradition of great acts from there. Guess what? NO DEL AMITRI. Do these people not do their research? OK rant over. Well we've finally got news that they are due to release their third album this Summer (they're almost as prolific as the Dels!) and you can read all about it here: http://users.digidesign.com/user_story.cfm?story_id=163 Strangely enough though, their Official Site doesn't have this news at all. Maybe they are rewriting the site and updating the format to match the new album as we write.... Anyway it'll be called Consent on the Nettwerk label (they're also managed by Nettwerk) - who had such success with Coldplay. Maybe this will be their big break.... I hope so.
