As it was, someone almost bit my head off because I accidentally infringed on their space for a few seconds...(Sorry to whoever that was--nothing personal). In fact ABCNEWS.com has George refuting the Daily Mail article saying he's feeling fine, and working in the studio. So, unless a Fender Bass fell on his head... Yes it's been awhile. Just signing in regarding the block party in Chicago 1999. (oh, has it been that long already?) I convinced a crowd of my friends to join me for the show and while gathering near the front I recognized Darren from his website. And the rest is history.... I guess I missed meeting him in San Francisco at the Fillmore as well. That was my Del Amitri month...three shows in two weeks.... What a thrill... As always.. Harrison George Harrison has said that rumours of his imminent death from cancer are far from the truth and he is "active and feeling very well". It comes after comments from Beatles' producer George Martin suggested that he was close to death. Harrison and his wife, Olivia, released a statement which said they were "disappointed and disgusted" by the Mail on Sunday's suggestion that the former Beatle was at death's door. "The reports were unsubstantiated, untrue, insensitive and uncalled for, especially as Mr Harrison is active and feeling very well in spite of the health challenges he has had this year," the statement said. George Martin's manager, Adam Sharp, even said Monday that Martin had not made the comments reported in the newspaper. What is more difficult to deny is that Harrison has had serious health problems. The 58-year-old guitarist underwent a course of radiation therapy last month in Switzerland. He issued a statement at the time telling his fans not to worry and refused to comment on reports that he was battling a brain tumour. It was not the first brush with the disease. In 1998, Harrison was treated for throat cancer, which he blamed on smoking. Four months ago, he underwent lung cancer surgery. The man dubbed the 'quiet Beatle' has had an unlucky few years, particularly in 1999 when he suffered a punctured lung. He was stabbed by an intruder who broke into his country home near London. The man was only fought off when Olivia hit him with a candlestick. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-oppositeview@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oppositeview@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Darren Holmquist Sent: 24 July 2001 16:19 To: oppositeview@smoe.org Subject: OV: NDC - G.
