Andrew tells no lie it was he who was drunk, I don't remember the teetering
for I swayed as well...I held up my wife or maybe she me but that is the

evidence ......

no-one has ever seen him drunk enough to fall down ........... not even me!

And it's wierd - over here the Hammersmith Palais gig had the following
attendees who were all standing pretty close together and had no clue as to
each others existence:

Kevin
Jane & Eddie
Hilary (or was that the RAH show?)
Jackie
Sherry
me

Kevin and I were pretty close together as he remembers the very tall drunk
Scotsman in front of me who was pogoing with a pint in his hand - most of it
ending up over me .......

No, Jimmy, me too!! They have been here, in Spain, a couple of times,
but....Just my luck!!! The promotion work was so weak that I noticed when
I saw the critics in the paper. But I hope that they'll come to Madrid
for the new album (please....)

I want to say thanks a lot and great work to Dirk and his MP3 stuff. Even
if he's got problems, his page is great and his concerts downloadings are
a healthy glass of water in this desert where all the OVers will have to
stay until... who knows? (Mercury knows :-(

This weeks accoustics tunes are.... wonderful!!!!!!

And everybody cheer up!!! We'll have the album maybe this century??????

Okay, so I just found out that one of my favourite musicians, Gary Numan, is 
playing a one off show at the Shepard's Bush Empire on Sept. 24th. Right now 
tickets are only on sale through his website, but I had a few questions for 
those who would be more familiar with then I would. What kind of venue is 
the Empire? How many people does it hold, etc? Anyone familiar with how 
fast/if Numan shows sell out in London? I don't know whether to go ahead and 
buy tickets or wait until I get over to bypass the pain of buying through 
the exchange rate over here. Plus, might lose my tickets on the way over.

Another one who hasn't seen them live. I always seemed to hear about them
after they'd left - there was a review in the paper but not publicity. I'm

Shepherd's Bush Empire is a great venue, I saw the Dels there for the very
first time on the Twisted tour.  It's a converted theatre and holds about 2
thousand(?) people.  Last time I was there was for Neil Finn a while ago and
the atmosphere was electric!  The best tickets (IMHO) are for the stalls
(standing). There are a couple of balconies which are unreserved seating,
but you need a strong head for heights to be right at the back at the top,
and the view isn't so good.  The people standing always seem to be having a
better time and I think there are a couple of bars down there too.

As for your ticket buying strategy, I'd buy them now.  Gary Numan is one of
those artists with a strong core of fans and if it is a one off show demand
could be high and people will travel far.......  that sounds familiar!

I have to agree that the Shepherd's Bush Empire is a
great venue, I've seen a few great bands there (Dream
Theater, Crash Test Dummies, Porcupine Tree, Counting
Crows, etc.) and the atmosphere is great.
