I have been reading the interesting conversation here for a couple of years now - thanks to everyone. I am a Brit now living in New Jersey but first got in to the Dels back in my college days in Preston Lancashire. First saw them at the Preston Guild Hall, I think it was 1992. I actually met the guys on the Twisted tour here in the States. It was quite amusing really, a local radio station was having a big St. Patrick's Day celebration and they booked Del Amitri to play at a small Irish bar. They had a big promotion advertising the band for St. Paddy's Day. A few days before the show somebody must have told the radio station that the guys are Scottish not Irish, so they quickly changed their promo saying "we know they're Scottish but it doesn't matter". Anyway they did the show, a lunch time acoustic set in this small bar watched by maybe 100 people, it was tremendous. I spoke with the guys afterwards, Justin wrote a message to a ! friend of mine (a huge Dels fan) who was getting married later that month. Justin also told one of the roadies to put my name on the guest list for a show they did that night at the Jersey shore. That truly was a great day! The "MP3 mailing list". This list is an additional service to the weekly concert or show I upload. When you are subscribed, you will receive a rare Del Amitri MP3 every day. I will start with the b-sides and unreleased tracks to the first, self titled album, "Del Amitri". Then I will send out the b-sides to the other folders with sold-out B-sides and rare stuff you can see on my site. This way, I can cover it all: The MP3 mailing list to provide you with the B-sides and the rare stuff, and my website to provide you with my live-concerts of the Dels! :-) You can subscribe to both the MP3 mailing list and my newsletter at my homepage. Further, I implemented a poll in my MP3-section. Here you can choose the concert you like to see up the very next week! I hope you'll like this... yours, Dirk ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V3 #155 **********************************
