Some of you on the list will know Jackie who works for a large UK retailer but is not on line. She has just rung me to say that the following has appeared on her Universal release list (and she rang them up to confirm it): A new Del Amitri single to be released 6 or 13 August A new Del Amitri album to be released on the 20 August There are no titles or any other information - but she does caution that everything is subject to change from the record company - nothing may happen for months! And this is UK release information only. But if all goes to schedule a September/October tour???? It's just a relief to know that the record company are doing SOMETHING!!!!!! Hi, I got in contact with JPR for some ear gnawing for not telling me these dates, but came back with this news instead. These dates issued from Universal are tentative scheduling dates as a diary planner type thing. There is still some outstanding work for the band to do on the album so no dates are being made as yet. Saying that, I would love it to be a summer albumn :-) Kevin Cawthorne www.delamitri.co.uk > Some of you on the list will know Jackie who works for a large UK > retailer but is not on line. > > She has just rung me to say that the following has appeared on her > Universal release list (and she rang them up to confirm it): > > A new Del Amitri single to be released 6 or 13 August > A new Del Amitri album to be released on the 20 August > > There are no titles or any other information - but she does caution > that everything is subject to change from the record company - nothing > may happen for months! And with that comes the age old question: would you rather have a release date, and then have it pushed back; or be left in the dark until a release date is set in stone?? Personally, I'd like to have a date and have it pushed back. It gives you something to look forward to. - -Darren ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 18:32:41 +0100 From: "Jane Armstrong" Subject: OV: Re: release dates????? It sounds very odd to me that they have pencilled in the single to be released only a week before the album. Generally, record companies like to release the first single a couple of months in advance and then another just a few weeks before the album comes out, so the band are bought back in the public's awareness in time for them to rush out and buy the album. On another tack, but referring to previous discussions a few days back, I've just got back from Dublin where I saw Travis. They performed most of their new album and Fran Healey commented that anyone taping the gig would have a field day and probably make loads of money selling on the new stuff. Fat chance of that though - security was really tight! They even checked inside people's mobile phones! Their new stuff was really great though. When the CD The Invisible Band comes out on 11 June (12th in the US), rush out any buy it! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 May 2001 05:11:38 From: "Josh Neas" Subject: Re: OV: Re: release dates????? >It sounds very odd to me that they have pencilled in the single to be >released only a week before the album. Well, the new Tool single was only officially sent to radio stations a few days ago or last week and their new album comes out next week (the 15th), so it's not always the case, although generally you're right. >Their new stuff was really great though. I love the new single 'Sing' and the video is great (food fights, yes!). As for the Dels release date it seems that no one really knows anything and we could be infor a few rumours before finally getting our hands on something. Let's just hope it is worth it......
