I am on CDNow's new release mailing list and last week, Ms. Rose's album was listed, so there's another source from which to procure it. http://www.cdnow.com Kelly Minneapolis P.S. Leah, I'm a poor correspondent, but by all means let's get together this summer. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 May 2001 11:12:01 -0400 From: ericmj@mindspring.com Subject: RE: OV: Re: I'm just too lazy.......... >Girlfriend was the first I got so it has a special place. I like >Altered >Beast as well. But the songs Girlfriend, Holy War and Does >She Talk are >just fantastic. >Dear all. Buy this album. >Yes, please do. Then buy all his other fantastic stuff. :) Anybody else have a copy of Matthew Sweet's "Goodfriend"? I think it was a promo only release. It's mostly (if not all) songs from "Girlfriend" but alternative versions, lots of acoustic only stuff. Very good, also very hard to find anymore. I'd have to (slightly) disagree about the phrase "all his other fantastic stuff", only because, well, his first album is just "blechh" (to me at least). The second ("Earth"?) wasn't horrid, but nowhere nearly as good as Girlfriend and everything after. Some Del content: I am right now listening to disc 2 of my B-sides compilation (covering 82-96). They all fit very neatly on 2 80 minute CDRs, in chronological order (except for one track out of chrono order, to make things fit). Covers everything from "Sense Sickness" to "The Last Love Song". Will be making a compilation of the more recent stuff next. Maybe it's the heat that is bringing everyone out of lurker-mode (it's supposed to be 90 degrees in NYC today!), but I have a question that has been making me insane! I got my video from vinylrev.com (thanks for the recommendation -- I've been watching this obsessively ever since!). In the video for Not Where It's At - -- who is the actress? I KNOW I've seen her in something before, and not being able to place her is driving me absolutely *batty.* Thanks in advance for your help -- even though I don't post often, I totally enjoy reading the e mails from everyone. Thanks again -- Tara ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 11:57:45 -0700 (PDT) From: Alison Bellach Subject: Re: OV: A Question > I got my video from vinylrev.com (thanks for the recommendation -- I've been > watching this obsessively ever since!). Can you believe that a dentist can act?! :) Okay, I am lying. But Karen doesn't obsess enough anymore and it makes me pouty. Alison, who is listening to Sleater-Kinney these days. :) PS If anyone wants mp3s of the Girlfriend outtakes/rough cuts mentioned earlier, I have em. - ------------------------------------------------------------------- Alison Bellach: alibee@delamitri.com http://alibee.linex.com http://www.delamitri.com "If you want peace, work for justice." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 12:28:34 -0700 (PDT) From: doug brown Subject: OV: Scooby Snacks 100% Fun is the one for me. Your message made me laugh so hard, I kept having flashbacks of the gang of OVer's that were at the World's Largest Block Party a few years ago. I think those plaid catheter bags would have been a welcomed sight on that day.
