I bought this album a couple of months ago and it's been in my CD player ever since. You can also get the EP - Party Dress - either direct from http://www.roughtraderecords.com/ or www.amazon.co.uk has it - not sure about amazon.com - but buying from the UK is no problem these days. Iain and Kris produced the EP and they both play on it, as does Mark. I had an email from Eileen Rose a couple of weeks and she told me that she was just going into Kris and Iain's studio in Rochester, Kent (as opposed to New York!) to start recording her next album with them, which is due for release in September - round about the same time as the Dels. It leads me to speculate if she may be booked as the support act for the Autumn UK tour..... If anyone is interested, Eileen will be playing a gig on 6th June at Dingwalls in London. It's billed as Eileen Rose plus guests..... so who knows who might turn up. While I used to be able to name a song on all Del albums (except for SOSP) that I needed to skip, that's no longer the case. The songs do grow on you. I used to HATE "One Thing Left To Do" on Twisted, until I heard the boys perform it live. While it's not a favorite, I don't skip it anymore. I do find it weird, however, that with all the great songs the Dels have written and recorded, they manage to squeeze a "mediocre" one onto an album, but release about 7 or 8 wonderful songs as b-sides. There are SO MANY b-sides that I absolutely love and rank in my Top 10 all-time best Del Amitri songs, such as Sleep Instead of Teardrops, Slowly, It's Coming Back, Better Man, Maggie Brown, Evening Steals the Afternoon. That's my two cents. :) Keep up the good work everyone. While I don't write very often, I do read and have been exposed to some great new music from the posts people make. Thanks. I also have to say the Twisted is my favourite album of all time, it still manages to beat off Rush at the moment! That makes me think, could you possibly have another two bassists (Geddy Lee (God) and Justin) who are further away from each other in their playing style? I have started listening to some stuff by Aimee Mann, it sounds pretty good (I checked her out because she sings on Rush's Time Stand Still song) with lots of different moods. Ah, well "100% Fun" was my first, so that's why it's tops for me I guess. :) But you did hit my soft spot: You named two of my favourites from _Girlfriend._ That and "I've Been Waiting" and "Nothing Lasts." Twisted was my first Del Amitri experience, which I bought only after hearing two guys do a cover of tell her this. It took me over a year to really listen to that album and realize that I had come across my favorite band. Change Everything I listened to straight through, and I always have. I don't skip anything on twisted anymore, but I did for a long time. I just finally got over that. I always waver between twisted and change everything...currently, it's change everything. ask me again in a month. On Tue, 1 May 2001 09:35:37 +0100 Hopping James W writes: > Not true.
