They toured UK twice around this time last year when Galaxy of the Daisies was released so I guess they won't be back until next release. I do however have a limited 1,000 edition recording of the best of the last tour including US &UK dates, mail me off-list Sam and I'll send a tape copy if you like. I read last month that he had throat cancer but the news suggested he was recovering, this is a shock. After being awoken into music by T. Rex, it was The Ramones, Clash, Damned, Buzzcocks, Devo, Costello etc. that really brought it to life and formed to the backbone to my my life. Saw them play Cardiff Uni twice in late '80's/early'90's and must have lost over a stone through dehydration. Must have played about 40 songs with no break between them other than the obligatory 1,2,3,4 - just immense. They've left a legacy with their recorded and live albums, some of which I still play regularly, every home should have one. Thanks for the music and the memories Joey. I hope he goes to cremation with the boys holding up placards with Gabba Gabba Hey, shouting 1,2,3,4. We'll never see their like again - music's poorer for that. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 11:18:09 +0100 From: "Jane Armstrong" Subject: OV: Re: Sam Until a date for the release of the album is set, there are no gigs booked. However, as you're signed up to this list you'll hear about them as soon as they are announced. Also, look for information on the two Official Sites - www.delamitri.co.uk has a mailing list, and we send out information as soon as we get it from JPR. Whereabouts in the South of England do you live? There's quite a crowd of us in the Berkshire/Hampshire/Dorset/Kent/London area, and we occasionally get together for a weekend of carousing. Cheers Jane www.delamtiri.co.uk > Likewise with the Dels. I've asked this before, but does anyone know when, or > indeed, if they are touring anytime soon?
