This morning as I was listening to my college station they played a Whiskeytown song that I absolutely _know_ was a cover. However, even though I immediately recognized it as such (and am pretty sure I own a copy, although after rifling through my cds, no luck. next I go to mp3..) I couldn't think of the artist. All I can really remember is the first line in the song is: "My love is like a wild goose.." It's a very country song, I'm fairly sure. That or something close. I thought it was Gram Parsons, but that turned up empty in my search of my GP/Greivous Angel cds. Any help would be great! josh. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2001 12:16:15 -0600 From: "Jen Woyan" Subject: OV: Re: OT hey there (Whiskeytown reply) Josh: I don't recall that particular lyric, but here are the only Whiskeytown covers I'm aware of. But also, check with Andrew - he's more of a fan than I am. Hope this helps! A Song For You / Gram Parsons (From Return of the Grievous Angel compilation) Silver Wings / Merle Haggard (From the Poor Little Knitter On The Road: A Tribute To The Knitters compilation) I Hope It Rains At My Funeral / Tom T. Hall (From The REAL Tom T. Hall Project compilation) Me And My Ticket / (not listed) (From The Garden Place - Songs by our Friends charity compilation) And an unusual one.... Busted / Erik B. and Rakim (From the Revival Vol. 2 - Kudzu & Hollerin' Contest compilation) http://www.ryanadamsmusic.com/albums.htm Have a happy... The pain and suffering was worth it, my dear. TTFN Susan ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2001 22:05:24 From: "Josh Neas" Subject: OV: victory is mine! (answer to the Whiskeytown cover question) Thank you all for writing in. I must've just blanked out when I was listening to my Gram Parsons cd. It was "A Song For You." All day I kept saying to myself, "Goddamn if that doesn't sound like a Gram Parsons song whether I heard it on my disc or not." So, success. Thank you all so much for your help. :) josh. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V3 #82 *********************************
