Sunday? I can't remember. But it was a lovely time...thanks again for coming to meet me all....the others on the trip with me were appreciative of your directions to various places and travel tips as well. In Paris, I found that all clothes fit me wonderfully, which is something I don't find anywhere in the states. I'm 6'0" tall, and everything in Paris was long enough in the arms and legs, and I didn't have to buy a too big size to get it that way! It was wonderful, but if everyone in Paris is so tall and thin that they sell clothes I can actually buy, can someone please explain to me why the bed was 4 inches too short and my feet had to hang off the end? As for Del content, I was standing outside Notre Dame and was just randomly singing/humming, and I realized it was Surface of the Moon. And the longer I was in Paris, the more I was singing that song and the more I related. I don't know if there are any Parisians on this list, and I don't mean at all to offend, but for the 4 nights I was there, Paris did seem to be soulless. Everyone I was there with was so enthralled with everything, and I remember sitting in the parks and walking through the streets and thinking "it's nice here, but it's nice in Minneapolis too". It seemed to me that people were just searching for their yearly allowance of beautiful things, but they're blinded to see it where they are. But Europe, Paris, there's a stigma that it's more incredibly beautiful than anything else. And so people go there and think that they are getting something that they couldn't get anywhere else, when really they just don't choose to see it anywhere else. Lines from that song about the facades to hide behind, the lack of memories, the phony old world market, seriously...it was Paris to me. That song immortalized everything I felt there. I sang Surface of the Moon so much that one guy even asked what song I was singing and who it was by, saying he was going to napster them when we got home. Ok, I'm done now. It was wonderful to meet you guys...I hope to be back there soon. I feel jipped out of London...I wanted more time there. You're always such a wealth of knowledge, Darren, I think we'll have to keep ya! ;-) I've never got my hands on the bootleg CD, so I suppose if I buy the video....well, I could make my own casette tape for the car, at least, since my VCR's hooked up to my stereo. :-) I guess I won't complain that Jane's helping me spend money that I shouldn't be right now.
