But it is most probably in PAL format which is not compatible with US VCR's. My name is Bette. I have been a long time Dels fan since 'Change Everything' (one of the top 10 albums ever!) entered my life. I've been fortunate enough to see them live only once at the 'Boathouse' in Norfolk, Virginia...where thanks to Alison's website, I learned of their habit for carrying marbles. I have been on this list for oh, about three (almost four) weeks now and I would like to commend Jane and everyone for the current updates on Del's activities, insights on songs/lyrics and OVer's superb musical tastes. I didn't realize that the former Toad frontman, Glenn Phillips had a new album out until Josh mentioned it in his post. I'll have to go get it! Also, sometimes after a thread is introduced, I've found myself going back to re-listen to old favorites like WR, BMD and OTLTD with new ears... A special thanks to Kelly for the trip down memory lane ... I grew up in Minneapolis and have fond memories of concerts at the 400 Bar. Remember the Suburbs or the Replacements? Oooooh - I think I'm dating myself! Current CD's in rotation: Coldplay - Parachute David Gray - White Ladder matchbox Twenty - Mad Season Fuel - Something like Human Del's - Hatful of Rain Plus the latest by Creed, 3 Doors Down, Barenaked Ladies and U2 Bette Philadelphia, PA ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Feb 2001 11:57:33 -0800 From: Lori Royal-Gordon Subject: OV: Very Off-Topic: sick vs. ill My apologies for once again using this list for non-Dels stuff. But I'm really in a bind here, and if someone in the UK could help me, I'd surely appreciate it! I think I remember hearing somewhere that in British English "sick" only means nauseated (sick to your stomach) and cannot be used to mean generally ill, although here in the US the terms are interchangeable. Is this true? Can someone with a sore throat or a fever be called sick, or would he only be called ill unless he is also throwing up? I cannot find either "sick" or "ill" listed in any of the zillion online British vs. American English dictionaries, and my time is running short. I've just had an email to say that there's a documentary on the late but great Alex to be shown in Scotland only: "For those of you lucky enough to be living in Scotland don't miss the Wunderful, a BBC1 Scotland ExS documentary on Tue 6 Feb, 22:35 - 23:05 30 mins The programme gives a profile of the Scots born rocker Alex Harvey. Harvey's widow Trudy, along with Maggie Bell, Jim Kerr and SAHB members tell the story of the man famous for 'Vambo'. " Is there any kind soul on this list who can possibly video it for me? I can either send you a blank vid in return or trade some Del stuff.
