Of course! How could I have forgotten that! :-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Feb 2001 13:41:13 -0600 From: "Jen Woyan" Subject: OV: Re: Re: The death of the album Vinyl was a wonderful thing - especially stuff my brother got -Elton John's Captain Fantastic w/ a comic book and fanzine inside the gatefold sleeve; or KISS's Love Gun with a working >snap< gun included (along with a magazine making mention of Gene Simmon's and Cher's then relationship...) - but LP's were a bit hard to take on a jog or on the plane for an 8-hour flight... And then again, nowadays a 12x CD burner is either part of your PC tower set-up already or can be had for under $200 - well within many people's budgets. At least amongst most of my music-loving (albeit somewhat geeky) friends, a burned mix CD has replaced the mix tape - in fact, they're actually cheaper - a blank cassette is $1 and a CD-R is about $0.75. And the portable MP3 players are getting smaller in size, larger in disk capacity and lower in price every day - the latest one holds 750MB and is 1/3 the size of the average mobile phone...
