Deirdre O'Donahue passed away 3 days ago. I am sure most of you do no recognize that name but she was a DJ. If any of you have the bootleg tape/CD of the two SNAP shows the Dels did in March & May of 1990 then you may remember her name. Sad to hear this news. I only know her from the bootleg you gave me (thanks Taire) I'm listening to the SNAP shows right now, and it's strange - she's talking to them about how long it is between Dels albums, and they're joking about it - and I'm thinking how things just don't change! Reid Gardner" Subject: OV: unforgettable So I admit that the cd turntable has had some nonDels stuff in it these past weeks: a marvelous gal named Margaret Becker (anyone heard 'What Kind of Love'?), the new U2 cd (Edge always makes me smile but I swear I don't know why the press makes such a fuss over these guys) and a guitarist I met at an art show named Troy Crisswell. But then I put some del Amitri back in and am totally knocked out of my spinning drawing chair: "Before the daylight dies and the dusty sky gets rusted up with tungsten, Before the phony night stakes it claim on walkers waiting at the junction... From the blue shade of the park, couples emerge Dropping hands like they're still scared to get caught But I want to be caught in the rage of embraces too Before the evening steals the afternoon..." It don't get much better than that, ya'll.
