In response to the topic, I would, out of respect to the movie I saw a couple of days ago "High Fidelity" make a top 5 of Del Amitri songs that they can play at my funeral, these are. 1. Hatful of Rain 2. Angel on the Roof 3. Someone else will 4. Make it always be too late 5. Its never too late to be alone See you later, and BTW, I think that when the album is near release day, Iain and Justin should publicly declare a war on each other 'wag the dog' style to crank some publicity into the album. If I had to pick one for my funeral, it'd probably be "Before the Evening Steals the Afternoon" or maybe, "Cry to Be Found." Well I already want Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" - just to be corny, but I like the idea of "Before the Evening Steals The Afternoon". But "One Thing Left To Do" is one of my all time fave Delsongs - so maybe I'll pick that if I'm feeling particularly evil. Hey guys, Every now and then, because of the website, I get the sort of sad message that I did below. I thought you all might be interested in it. Dear Alison Great Dels website - thanks for the effort you put into it. But I write to you for another reason. 2 days ago I learned that an online friend of mine Kristy Richards has died after a long harrowing fight with a terminal bowel disease. She was 27. I didn't know Kristy in real life but met her in IRC and became a friend - not best friends but a friend. At one point we spoke of going to see Del Amitri at an outdoor gig in Nottingham. That was before she became too ill to travel any long distances. She kept an online journal (apparently her real life friends and family know nothing of this journal). She I think used this as a form of therapy I don't know if you have contact with the band but it is an emotional read. She was a brave lady and I have found reading the journal an emotional and at times inspiring experience. She was a fan . They may want to read it. Since Kristy died so recently I don't know how much longer the journal will be online - the url is:- www.livejournal.com/users/kristy Like I said I don't know if any of the band want to read it - I appreciate how busy they must be right now but I wanted them to have the opportunity. She was a very brave lady. Some of her IRC friends are putting up a tribut page to her as our way of honouring her memory. OK - enough from me. I feel like I have disturbed you enough :-) Regards Paul Hailes ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V2 #192 **********************************
