Not really watched the film properly yet, because there is an audio commentary by Harry Enfield, Dave and Ed Bye (the producer - married to Ruby Wax) on the DVD. It's basically the three of them talking all the way through the film about how it was written, and the "special effects". It's quite amusing - and David talks a lot about his brother Ted, who inspired parts of the film and who shared a flat with Harry Enfield for two years whilst at college. No mention of the Dels at all though. I thought there might be as David does talk quite a bit about his life. Maybe he's saving it all up for the next film he writes. On another tack altogether, just found this site which tells you what was No1 in the UK and US charts on the day you were born. Mine was "Singing The Blues" by Tommy Steele in the UK and, believe it or not, "Singing The Blues" by Guy Mitchell in the US. Coincidently, I bought an old 78 of the Guy Mitchell version at a jumble sale when I was about 9 (for no reason other than it cost about a penny). If I'd realised it's significance I might have looked after it. Don't know what happened to it - my brother probably used it as a frisbee. The Rolling Stones' Satisfaction was UK No 1 when Eddie was born - and the No 1 album when our youngest son was born 29 years later was by the Rolling Stones.... and now The Beatles are No 1 again. Just shows what they say about the oldies being the goldies. Similar to your experience, the #1 in the UK when I was born was Ernie (fastest milkman in the West) by Benny Hill(!) - a record which I had in my vinyl collection when I was a little girl.....inherited by an older relative I hasten to add!! In the USA it was Family Affair by Sly and the Family Stone - I love that record!! Thanks for the link.
