The dels Eegg now stands at 9.0 from 24 votes. By right this should put them on top of the Top 25 list, but the webmasters must have a 50 vote rule or something like that. So I appeal for more votes (vote again if you have already). www.eeggs.com then search for del amitri and follow the instructions. HI All Seeing that there are some new members, and the list being a bit quite quiet, I thought a new question was needed. One that could make everyone answer (including the del-lurkers). As we wait for the new album (2001 will be a good year!!), i listened to the previous albums over and over. While listening to "Waking Hours" and hearing "This Side of the Morning" for the 20 billionth time, I remembered what it was like hearing it for the first time. So it got me thinking why did I buy the album in the first place, and what do I think of it now. So, members of the worlds greatest mailing list (respect to Darren, Aiiiiy, WestSide, Boomshakala"), the challenge is this: Simply Review the Del albums in two parts 1.When you bought it and 2. What you think of it now. Remember be honest if you think a certain del song is rubbish the say so. We won't bite, it will probably start another discussion. If this catches on there are 5 albums worth, (6 if you count the greatest hits), and that's a lot of reviews!! I have to say that as boring and sheep-like as it may sound, it is damn near impossible for me to find a song by the Dels that I don't like. Dammit, there are a few that don't quite snuff-up to the rest, but bad, my God no! First of all, there ain't no way I am gonna knock the debut! There are bits and pieces that sound dated, but only because they were so young at that time, naivety ain't a knock, I wish I still had that innocence today! Waking Hours is a masterpiece, plain and simple! You're Gone is probably the only track that I have grown out of, kind of! Change Everything contains the best hidden gem of this band's career, As Soon As The Tide Comes In is brilliant! Have they ever performed this live? Unfortunately I have never seen the band live, so if they have, that's why it's still hidden to me. I Won't Take The Blame is the worst of the lot here. Twisted contains my fave Del song, It Might As Well Be You and my least fave, Start With Me. The album is sort of a mixed bag, probably the band's most inconsistent, imho. Some Other Sucker's Parade is so underrated it makes me puke! What I Think She Sees, was that not a single? I hear it all the time at the local grocery! Sleep Instead Of Teardrop!!!!!!!!! My gracious people do I have to say more!!!!!!!! And everytime Rhonda comes by to let me know how I screwed her entire life up in just fifteen minutes, The tile track starts playing and does not stop until my head is entirely through the wall!!!!! I'll be back..... take care, rob - --WebTV-Mail-24297-1498-- ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V2 #161 **********************************
