Any chance to see John on the big screen is fine with me!! The rock band isn't just releasing a new album - it's putting out 25 of them. In an unprecedented attempt to beat bootleggers at their own game, the Seattle-based band is selling live two-CD sets recorded at more than two dozen concerts during a European tour earlier this summer. "We just thought it was pretty cool," said guitar player Mike McCready. "If fans have to buy bootlegs, it can cost them $50. We wanted to do something that was cheaper." Each album carries a suggested retail price of $16.98. No one can remember one act flooding the marketplace with so much music at the same time. Even Pearl Jam admits it's not for everyone. They are an awesome band out of South Dakota...their bongo player looks like Toad from Xmen and the lead singer is quite pleasing to the eye. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER. Seriously, they are good stuff. ninedays was very good...they did a cover of "video killed the radio star" that absolutely ruled. Stroke9 may have sucked in high school, but they were impressive. He even sang the high parts, which is something I've noticed lots of bands conveniently leave out. AND, I caught my first drum stick !!!!!! I have envied you all for so long for having such cool stuff. ninedays' drumstick will never replace the loss I felt at the Basilica from barely missing a piece of Del Amitri wonderfulness, but it will help ease the pain.
