Ace of Spades was originally a hit for heavy metal band Motorhead (lead by Lemmy - formerly of Hawkwind). I don't think it was a cover of anything else, other than all the other Motorhead songs. They played at Guildford Festival this year - but after about 20 minutes of the same old stuff we decided to leave - we couldn't stand another hour of hearing the same song performed over and over again but different names - just to hear Ace of Spades!
