Yeah, > I'll apply for the bank loan tomorrow (har!!). Other than the Basillica show in Mpls last year, I don't think I've ever paid over $15.00 to see Del Amitri. They tend to play a club or bar (very small venue) and these have been very inexpensive. Even when you mention Don Henley playing at a 4000 seat venue - that's a lot more seating than what I'm talking about. I'm talking 200-300. Then, of course, you *are* paying for Don Henley at $90.00 a seat . . when the Eagles reunion came around this area (Milwaukee) a few years back, the seats were $135.00 (??) - something like that. No matter how much I'd like to see someone, I'd never pay that. So, what I'm saying Kristy, is that I don't think you'll need a bank loan to go see the Dels if and when they tour N. America again, even if Vancouver is overpricing things. These kinds of things vary from place to place and country to country, but I can't see them ever being able to charge $90.00 a ticket, or even $50.00 for that matter. (Sadly, if they can't fill a club at $12.00 a ticket, I can't see them even being booked in at a larger venue.) Summerfest is a different story altogether, but there you paid $8.00 to get in the main gate and the show was free. I think the Royal albert hall was about £17.50. Now that is a friend. They were sold out (this was the final concert in LA at the House of Blues '96. She had to buy them from a ticket agency. Not only were they expensive, but the guy didn't show up to give us the tickets until two minutes after ten o'clock and the show was set to begin at ten. We had to meet him at the hotel across the street and we didn't even know what he looked like. He finally showed up and luckily, we didn't miss any of Josh Clayton-Felt's set, but we were a bundle of nerves. I don't recommend buying tickets like that. ~gina ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V2 #110 **********************************
