I have to say thanks to Jen for the article . . . this is EXACTLY why I can't see shows here in Vancouver. For instance . . . the Divine Miss M was here last year and seats up front were upward of $250! Don Henley played a a dinky 4000 seat theatre in July and got $90 a seat. I love music and I love live shows . . . but until entertainers and sports figures come down of their mountains, ticket prices will soar no matter what we do. Here is a great example of Vancouver overpricing . . . the Canucks (possibly the s*(%*$#%t team in the league) gets $50 a seat in the nosebleeds. When Vancouver gets it's WHL team next year (that's one step down from the NHL), an adult ticket win't top $20, and a season ticket package may not go over $400 dollars. THAT'S value. Not to mention the hockey is just as good if not better. Which begs the question - will I be able to afford Del Amitri??? Yeah, I'll apply for the bank loan tomorrow (har!!).
