May I blurt out a word of thanks for Mike & Lynne's efforts in maintaining this Articles section on their excellent web page. Leah, as your listing to recently acquired material is satisfying your thirst for Dels, so has perusing M&L's Articles section helped me through this time between new DA albums. Thanks to one article, I have a mental image now of a bearded Iain skiing with long locks snapping behind him that upon spontaneous remembrance has caused me to chuckle out loud much to the consternation of my family and friends. All ya'll ought to check the articles out too. Might make some of you less grouchy. Thanks, M&L. You're a sweetie, Leah. Just got back from holiday and was confronted with a load of extremely scary postings from extremely scary people! So as it's still (I think) lurker week (!) here we go... I think the list seems a little bit cliquey 'cos new people don't really know anyone. But there's lots of ways to be involved in a list. Just 'cos I don't often have stuff to contribute, doesn't mean I'm not a member of the list. And I kind of liked the Muppet discussions. Don't you think it's interesting to find out stuff about people, that's not just Dels-related? If we all like Del Amitri we're all likely to like some of the same other things too. Even if there's no post about actual news, some of these conversations are really interesting! Conversations about song meanings totally fascinate me: even if I don't agree I always end up sitting in front of my computer staring into the middle distacne for about half an hour thinking about it! Everybody on this list has interesting things to say for themselves, whether it be once a day, once a week, once a month or once a decade. It's sad that we can't just co-exist without people arguing! I used to be intimidated by not knowing anybody, but now I feel kind of priveleged to listen to the list, and know that my opinion will be listened to and registered. What effect does it have on me to hear someone else's opinion, other than to broaden my mind? Surely I'm benifitting, not losing out from that? And anyhow, doesn't EVERY girl want to discuss the undisputably wonderful clothes/hair/extremely sexy sideburns of our Dels? You have me baffled. From an extremely un-list-hating Rachel. ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V2 #63 *********************************
