I was reading one of our local rags yesterday mornign and read an article written by Courtney Love. It blew me away. She's articulate, and witty and sounds like she really knows her stuff. I write this for all of you intersted in how the music business really works. She states opinions on labels, the internet, money matters, copyrights and more. I certainly don't do the article justice and don't want to paraphrase. Doug - since you seem to be interested and in the know about the way artists are treated in general, you would LOVE to read what she has to say. It certainly opened my eyes. Does this have relavance to Del? Yes, because it outlines some of the criteria record companies use to decide about who to promote, and who to drop. Since Del Amitri has lost some ground re: promotion and profile the last few years, it now makes absolute sense to me why, and I know now more than ever that I don't agree with it. The article is posted at www.salon.com/tech/feature/2000/16/14/love/ . Kristy in Canada P.S. - Is it true that Miss Love has had extensive plastic surgery? I know she had a nosejob, but she sure looks a lot different than she did 5 years ago! ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V2 #33 *********************************
