But as to whether or not they are a pop group would depend entirely on one's definition of "pop". A lot of their songs could certainly be defined as pop - and although they have done a lot of tracks which can be very much considered to be rock "High Times", "Start With Me" for example, many more are ballads which owe far more to the pop genre than to rock. In comparison with a lot of other bands I like, they are much more of a pop group than a rock band. But does it really matter? I HATE labels in music. Del Amitri are a great band. Full Stop.
