Excellent. She is the coolest. Check her 1979 tour, if you haven't already ( which i'm sure you have ). She toured with arguably the best jazz musician available on three different instruments. Sax, bass, and guitar. genius.... I remember this album when it came out I played it no stop...brings back memories of living in downtown Chicago at the corner of Clark and Foster staring out my 2nd story window..watching the traffic and people walk by...my oh my...Joni gets into your blood..... This records and The Fugees...lord have mercy.. soundtracks of my life love the subtly shifting rhythm underlying the title track. Another perfect assembly of words, music and rhythm by one of the most gifted singer-songwriters that has ever lived (Love this one) The Vincent van Gogh album..state of mind of her1as beautifull as all her albums, careful words Have a Grrr8...phenomenal Joni day! The one and only time I saw Joni live was during this 1979 tour with Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorious, unforgettable, I can still see it in my mind! I saw Pat Metheny and his band live later and loved that too. My favorite Metheny songB is "Last Train Home", gets me every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g6nPYyIS_I Steve From: JMDL Digest To: joni-digest@smoe.org Sent: Monday, October 12, 2015 3:59 PM Subject: JMDL Digest V2015 #615 JMDL DigestB B B B Monday, October 12 2015B B B B Volume 2015 : Number 615 ========== TOPICS and authors in this Digest: - -------- B AmeliaB Joni MitchellB B B B B B B B B [Barbara Sullivan ] - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 12 Oct 2015 18:57:59 -0400 From: Barbara Sullivan Subject: AmeliaB Joni Mitchell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6d2RG2Rl64 1979 I think, with Joni Mitchell, Pat Metheny Awesome...enlarge screen Babs - ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2015 #615 ***************************** - ------- To post messages to the list, sendto joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe - ------- ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2014 #816 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here:mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe
