I also ordered the full collection on Amazon, which I'm waiting with bated breath to arrive this week (The Studio Albums 1969-1987). Long live Chris Squire ... one of the best bassists ever in my opinion. I can't tell you just how much I love Chris Squire but I can tell you he has been the constant in that band from day one. YES has been a motley collection of former members and new singers but I really do consider them one of my favorites in the heart where it counts. RIP Chris. After the release of "Going For The One", what has been your favorite Yes album post GFTO? And curious how you felt about the ABW&H release in 1989? Happy PS: I've never been a huge 90215 or Big Generator fan, though I do like them. NP: Son Lux - Change is Everything On Jun 29, 2015 3:40 PM, "Susan E. That is solidly my favorite all time Yes album. Top to bottom it has the best of both worlds in terms of good radio songs and great epic pieces. As far as 90125 and Big Generator goes, I used to greatly denigrate these because as some said "its not real Yes." Currently I am undergoing a great change in my view of Rabin Yes. I love it and Rabin wasn't trying to be Yes. Trevor Rabin is a really great guy and musician. As the years go by I like him more and more.Funny how maturity and careful listening overcomes ignorant knee jerk emotions one has. But to your question, I really liked "Open Your Eyes" but I was able to hear that one a lot more and in depth than some others. Love Squire's "time to face reality." ;) From Big Generator's "Almost Like Love" "Who was it organizing the right To follow my leader? Seems we look and stand around waiting For a sign from GodSpeaking for myself The Christian need, the Muslim need The Buddhist need To testify the need for brotherly love" AMEN!! Those were almost exactly the ascent and descent years of Prog music in terms of its inventiveness and popularity. Furthermore we know Joni was a fan of several English artists, Peter Gabriel, The Police, Sting, Seal. Isnbt it plausible that she heard something like Yes at the time of Close to the Edge? She was back in L.A and FM stations were no doubt playing it. Anyone else like the theory? cheers Dave ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2015 20:18:54 +0000 From: "Susan E. We know she wasn't the only one that was influenced by classical music and Tolkein.
