I know there's karma out there, but it would be too cruel for her to have to hear that in a hospital just because she slammed it in an interview last year. Hopefully someone batting for her could tell the staff-- "Ms. Mitchell only wants to hear Debussey, Stravinsky, Duke Ellington and certain periods of Miles Davis. Please do not assume she would be comforted in hearing Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young (sounds like a white picket fence), Carly Simon or anyone associated with Laurel Canyon. Maybe James Taylors new cd. Ironically, since my "Walk with Joni" began in the early '80's most of the time I ever heard her outside of my own house was on muzak in grocery stores and drug stores (or at a Jonifest). Only intermittantly on a regular radio station. I remember hearing The Boho Dance and other songs from Hissing in the store. Just recently heard Help Me too. I have Joni's Mendel book and in it she says when she had extended hospital stays she would request art supplies, books to be sent to her and she would create, so I'm sure she's doing something now and it will be interesting to see what it is. "Love" is an entirely different animal. I described it briefly in my post yesterday. I got this from Blake himself this morning. If anyone in New York is able to go and report? Sounds interesting. It's Blake's response to the famous 'Pink Dress Concert' where he's penned new songs to each of the songs that she sings in that concert. Blake himself is highly entertaining and a great performer. We met in NYC when I was there in 2011. Here's the link in case the link below doesn't work http://54below.com/artist/blake-pfeil-the-bbc-1970/ Jamie Zubairi Actor, Voiceover, Painter, Photographer.
