It comes from a 19966 Joni song titled "Sad Winds Blowin'". Pat may have heard Joni perform it. We had many discussions about the old unreleased songs - an obsession we both shared.B So here's Volume 220, a FRESH collection of covers. Mostly from 2014, the oldest of these is from 2008. Slouching Towards Bethlehem is seldom done and only Kadoos bring it in Dutch. Olga Konkova's LOTC is lovely. Will Taylor and Strings Attached are big Joni fans, going back to their studio version of 'Black Crow' and continuing on through their tribute CD in 2007. The (4) cuts here are from a "Strings On Grass" concert they did last September. Two of the songs in this set are songs that Joni never released. https://www.yousendit.com/download/bXBic0wrUzc4NVZESjhUQw 1. Jillette Johnson - River 2. Kadoos - Slepend (Slouching Towards Bethlehem/Dutch) 3. Margot Macdonald, Lea, Deeme Katson& Grace Griffith - Carey 4. Big Yellow Taxi - Winter Lady 5. Nirosta Steel - River 6. Olga Konkova - Ladies Of The Canyon 7. Erik Archbold & Laura Schopen - Woodstock 8. Phil Moseley - Urge For Going 9. Joanie Samra & Jesse Green - River 10. Tasha Bond - Big Yellow Taxi 11. B If they are saying that a person did not have a stroke; what they most probably mean is that they did not infarct brain tissue. B A stroke is usually considered a blood clot that blocks blood flow and kills brain tissue. B When they report that a person had an aneurysm, it only says there was a ballooning out of the structure. B Aneurysms are dilations of arteries in the brain. B Just having an aneurysm is usually not a damaging event unless it ruptures. B In that event, it bleeds into the brain and displaces it. B The pressure damages brain matter and can put a person on life support for a time while the blood is evacuated or is absorbed but not necessarily permanent damage. B The fact that a person is requiring rehabilitation implies that some type of damage occurred, either by the bleed or the attempt to repair it. B As a personal aside, I had a patient who suffered an aneurysmal bleed and her recovery after 6 months was so complete that it could not be recognized that she had any damage. B So, that is a very hopeful consideration for anyone who had an event caused by an aneurysm. B Usually, until six months have passed, it is premature to make statements about the degree of disability or residual deficit. B Undoubtedly, when a person requires rehabilitation, some damage has occurred; but it is way too early to comment on how that will effect their future function. B Regardless, the act of making it to rehab is a great achievement, and every reason to celebrate, because that is the darkest time and having made it through that gives every real reason to believe a recovery is highly probable.B The state of the art of medical sciences and the people who make that reality which can bring a person through that calamity is something of which a society can be proud. B It is their song that is sung to ageing children, of which we all are one. With continued ! good car e, there is every reason for optimism. B It would be a nice gesture if people would send a thank you note to her hospital and staff for giving us some more time with Joni. Will the Druid. A stroke (death of brain cells) might be caused by lack of blood due to a hemorrhage (bleeding) which might be caused by an aneurism (weakened and distended blood vessel). This research is, I think, my way of putting off any emotional reaction. djp On 29/05/15B B B 07:0418, Moni Kellermann wrote: > Am 29.05.2015 um 09:54 schrieb Sally: >> Anyone else hear anything about this info or the validity thereof: >> >> http://www.showbiz411.com/2015/05/29/update-joni-mitchell-moved-to-rehab-improving-after-brain-aneurysm >> >> >> Sent from Confunction Junction on my iPhone > > > Sounds legit enough! > > This is actually a piece of information that I wish the public had been > given from an official source (whoever that is these days). I only say that because of Neil Young having also had polio in the same outbreak as Joni and having suffered a brain aneurysm 10 years ago. I'm hoping for the best for Joni. lots of love, Anne - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 May 2015 22:37:51 -0400 From: josephbmcgowan@aol.com Subject: Pat Boland Hi Joni Group, I had exchanged several dozen E-mails with Pat over the Years. I actually spoken with him once as well. He lived overseas but a Five Dollar Phonecard gave us about a half hour conversation. He had told me back then that he was very I'll and I suspect he was certainly expecting to depart this Sphere far earlier then now. What was so cool was that he remembered all these old forgotten Joni Songs and I felt so Privileged when I eventually found recordings of Joni performing them, and was able to again allow Him to hear them once more. I recall how thrilled he was to have the Complete three verse version of "Just Like Me", the enchanting "Moon in the Mirror" and "Strawflower Me" ( which Joni Hardly ever played) As Heaven surely has Open Stages for all the Great Artists still wishing to play, Then I believe Pat will likely be the first to greet Joni whenever her spirit chooses to return home.
