Sally, I love what you say here about Sweet a Bird! The song captured me the first time I heard it. It was prescribed for me by a New Jersey boy with Arkansas connections before I heard it, and he was right on! Click! Joni is on some borderline now getting out of the hospital. She is in my thoughts and prayers!!! My thoughts on the song Sweet Bird are she could have been laying on the beach, a borderline between earth and sky and sea and land, when it came to her. She laid down golden tan all lotion end up, thinking about time in the sun and life in general and fell asleep then woke up vanishing like one feels when they sit up and feel a little light-headed making things look fuzzy after falling asleep in the sun. It is mystical for sure and a beautiful admission of guessing. I just realized how much thought on Joni and the meaning of her songs is speculation, guessing... all of it except what we know from her interviews like Malka's book, In Her Own Words. "Bouquet" I like your idea of a concrete, long lasting action like planting trees or protecting a wetland in Joni's honor!! How about somewhere in Canada? Near the Sunshine Coast, Toronto, or Saskatoon? Or near LA? Somewhere Joni frequents that is dear to her? Or somewhere else with great need? How? Also what about doing a smaller, more immediate, wider-spread environmental action like each of us on the same day send a rose and a note to our local governors and/or mayors bringing a specific local environmental need to their attention on behalf of Joni Mitchell? For the Roses? Ideas? Thoughts? Very beautiful family she obviously loves and who obviously love her and know what's going on and are with her and were shortly before Joni got sick. It could be amusing, if it weren't so annoying. What is interesting is how quickly this stuff proliferates. I'm sure you couldn't get a true story to make the rounds that quickly even in our weird wired world. On a similar note, I made the mistake of reading some of the comments under one of the many iterations of the TMZ story and, sure enough, someone had commented that "One tin soldier" was [something like, because this isn't a quote] one of Joni's songs that changed their life. How many times has THAT song been attributed to Joni? Of course it could have been someone trolling, but who knows? - - ----- Original Message ----- From: Jamie Zubairi home To: Sue E Tierney Tierney McNamara Cc: Joni JMDL Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2015 8:16 PM Subject: Re: Street singer?
