I didn't play it, it just went into my head as I was biking and I was sort of singing along, musing upon the lines. Then I remembered the Maynard Keenan interview where she talks about that song fairly in depth. Thats a particularly good interview because its all about music and he's a good musician. Its from Aug. Like morning calisthenics I go from song to song I've played before, relearning them in the practice of playing them. The book is awesome for telling us what songs can be played in what tunings. I'm not good at reading the picking tabs, but I can go backwards just like I can with reading music from the sound to the writing on the page...they strengthen each other. Harry's House, oh fun! A fun dance on the strings!! That's what Joni's songs are to me, dances on the strings. Furry Sings the Blues is in the same tuning as Harry's House. Hadn't played Furry before. Thoughts of Paz nailing it as I tried. The chords were just nonsense as I learned them in sequence and strummed from one to the next on the strings... And then it happened! The right movement of the right thumb and as with all of Joni's songs once the right dance steps between the left and right hands are made, the song just rolled off the guitar!!! A Joni aha moment, and I am like a child in awe over finding a crystal in the dirt!!! Thank you Joni for the songs and for this incredibly gracious gift of how to play them in Complete So Far!!! You are definitely the queen of beauty! I unmistakably see it in moments like this when I meet you in the dance on the strings. You moved me!! Praying for you in the playing of you... Fuck the wordswordswords (although thanks guys for sharing this article), the images are a mindblower!!! I guess I had not seen them. Beautiful and it tugged at my heart while looking and of course, it carries me back in time and thought to the moments I spent pouring over ever scrap of information, all the images I could find of Joni. OMG I miss this woman. I recall back in the days...here in DC the radio station of choice for freaks was WHFS. They had information way ahead about new releases and shows. They had only to mention a new record by Joni coming soon and I couldn't contain myself. The next day I would start calling the local record shop, Waxie Maxie's, pestering the hell out of them about when the record would be in. God I miss those days. I miss her...I miss her. Thanks again guys for sharing such amazing images. So lovely! :D Sent from Confunction Junction on my iPhone > On Apr 18, 2015, at 7:58 PM, Jeff Clark wrote: > > Steve wrote: > < or > I found it on Google. > http://loft965.com/2015/04/03/loft-list-10-underrated-songs-by-joni-mitchell/ > I had never seen her performance on the Jay Leno show, that was great!>> > Steve > > Hi Steve,I enjoyed looking at this, thanks.
