You're right Kakki. We're coming up on 20 yrs. I certainly haven't posted much in the past couple of years, but I do stay in touch with all my Joni friends through facebook, or just calling them. This is where it all began though. Les has done a hell of a job. I feel like this is a roll call, but I just had to chime in to welcome Mary P. back. You've been missed, but not forgotten. Joni is getting better! xoxo Jimmy In a message dated 4/18/2015 3:03:00 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, owner-joni-digest@smoe.org writes: I think the JMDL started sometime in 1996. Remember getting my first computer then, and like so many, the first search I did was "Joni Mitchell" and that is how I found it. Lurked for awhile and then delurked in '97. So I think we are coming up on our 20th anniversary - yikes! Time sure flies but we've made the most of those years ;-) Kakki ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Apr 2015 14:55:34 +0000 (UTC) From: Bob Muller Subject: Joni Covers 216 - Batter up! It's ALWAYS Joni covers season, but now it's baseball season as well. OK, I imagine that the overlap for Joni fans and baseball fans is pretty slight, but whatever. Our leadoff hitter Nina Omilian hits a solid double, we break out the bats (The Woodies), our mascot (Coyote) makes an appearance, we're playing in Two Rivers Stadium, Ettie Boland also hits a double, scoring Nina Omilian, and Maria Jacobs clears the bases with a TRIPLE! Not a single strikeout in the roster. It seems that our bats were made from a good wood stock. Looking at the scoreboard from both sides now, it appears that we won, unless we really don't know baseball at all. https://www.yousendit.com/download/bXBZclVLUENvQnU1aWNUQw The lineup: 1. Nina Omilian - Song To A Seagull 2. Nina Omilian - Cactus Tree 3. The Woodies - Woodstock 4. Meg Braun - River 5. Big Yellow Taxi - Conversation 6. Hideko Takada - Both Sides Now 7.
